WAAT Weekly Updates - 11/1/2020

Hello,

This is Mrs. Cox, principal of WAAT. Here are our weekly updates.

To our  11th, 12th, and 13th grade students & their parents: We will have a virtual parent night this Thursday, November 5th at 6:00. We will have panelists from CFNC, East Carolina University, and Barton College! They will share valuable information about how parents can best support their children throughout the college application process, planning for their futures, and applying for financial aid. They will also share how our pathways at WAAT connect to certain programs at Barton College and East Carolina University. For parents that receive the email with this phone call, the link will be provided in the email. This information will also be posted in the WAAT Student Google Classroom and on our school’s website.

All seniors need to get the meningitis vaccine as soon as possible. Students are now required to get the vaccine before they graduate from high school. If your child does not have this vaccine, you should receive a letter from our school nurse. If you have any questions, please contact Sherry Shelby at sherry.shelby@wilsonschoolsnc.net. Once your child has received this immunization, please bring this information to the school to be kept in their cumulative records.

If your child is a 10th grade student who is taking or scheduled to take Math 3, he or she is eligible to take the PSAT for free in January. If you would like for your child to take this practice exam, please contact Ms. Mitchell at cynthia.mitchell@wilsonschoolsnc.net. If your child does not meet the criteria to take the test for free, he or she can still take the exam for $14. We can accept cash or checks at the school. The check needs to be written to Wilson County Schools.

If you ordered a coat or a hoodie, we have your order at school. They can be picked up from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day.

If you have any questions, feel free to call the school at 252-265-4038.

Have an awesome evening!
