WAAT Weekly Updates - 10/11/2020

Hello,

This is Mrs. Cox, principal of WAAT. Here are our weekly updates.

We will have fall break on Monday, October 12th and Tuesday, October 13th. There will be no synchronous classes for high school or college those days.

Packets are available at the school for all 11th, 12th, and 13th grade students from Jostens. The information for 11th and 12th graders are about class rings. The information for our upcoming graduates shares details about cap and gown orders. I would like for each student graduating in May 2021 to purchase his or her cap and gown by December 31, 2020. Lee Holcomb, from Jostens, will be on campus from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on October 23rd for students to place orders. Orders can also be placed online.

Mrs. Boyette, our school counselor will have information sessions next week with the following schools:

  • North Carolina A&T State University
  • North Carolina State University
  • Barton College
  • Goodnight Scholars Program

For questions about the dates and times, please visit Mrs. Boyette’s Google Classroom.

We will have the rescheduled parade for our graduating seniors and super-seniors on October 23, 2020. Instead of doing a breakfast event, we are going to serve lunch from Chick-fil-A. Graduates will meet in the bus parking lot to get in line. Graduates should arrive from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Parents and underclassmen students can come watch the senior parade. If you would like to watch the parade, you will need to be parked in the student parking lot before 12:00 p.m. Graduates can decorate their cars. No one will be allowed to get out of their cars.

Lastly, we would like to get your feedback on your child’s experience during remote learning. If you receive the emails with this call, the link is provided. The link will also be posted on our school website at waat.wilsonschoolsnc.net in the weekly updates post. Please complete the survey by October 15, 2020.
