Weekly Message for May 17, 2020

Hello,

This is Mrs. Cox calling with important information about the end of the school year.

Student Textbook Drop-Off

Students will need to bring their high school and college textbooks, library books, and/or school-issued calculators to campus on one of the following dates:

Monday, May 18, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. or 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

  • 9th and 10th Grade Students

      Tuesday, May 19, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. or 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

  • 11th and Returning 12th Grade Students

Students can also pay any outstanding fines or fees.

Students will be allowed to keep their laptops and chargers over the summer.

Students can also get the belongings from their lockers on either of these dates.

During the Drop-Off event, no student or parent will be allowed to leave his or her vehicle. A WAAT staff member will go to each car to collect any materials or to issue items from each student’s locker.

Summer Textbooks and codes will be issued at the textbook drop-off, if we have the items in stock. If the materials are not in at the time your child drops off his or her materials, we will schedule another time for each student to pick-up these items from the school.

Summer Classes will be from June 1, 2020 to July 30, 2020. Students taking summer classes have already been notified.

Graduating Senior VIP Event

We will have an online Zoom meeting for all graduating seniors on Monday, May 18th at 6:00 p.m. The Zoom information has been emailed to each graduating senior. Our VIP Graduating Senior Drop-Off event will be May 22nd at 12:30 p.m.

Graduation Ceremony

We will have a drive-in graduation ceremony for our graduating seniors on May 30, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. All graduating seniors will need to be on campus parked in the bus parking lot by 10:30 a.m. Only individuals with tickets will be able to attend this event.

Yearbooks

Because the Yearbook facility was closed down due to the Stay-at-Home order, the yearbooks will not arrive until June 2020. Once the yearbooks are delivered, we will create a plan for how to get yearbooks to families. If you would like to purchase a yearbook, we will have a few on-site to sell for $30. Feel free to call the school to get on the waiting list to receive a book. This is a first-come, first-served process.

If you have any questions, feel free to call the school at 252-265-4038.

Have a great summer!
